Armor Plates

FAQ

When you order from our selection, each set of plates is sold in pairs. This means that with a single purchase, you will receive two plates. For instance, if you choose to buy the Patriot Level III Plates, you will be provided with a pair of plates, ensuring you have a matching set.

Level III and Level IV body armor plates are designed to provide protection against ballistic threats, but they differ in the level of protection they offer. Level III plates are capable of stopping rifle rounds such as 7.62x51 NATO rounds, which are equivalent to .308 Winchester hunting rounds, at velocities up to 2780 feet per second. They are also designed to protect against 5.56 mm ammunition commonly used for hunting and target shooting. However, Level III plates may not stop rounds with a steel or part-steel core, which would require a Level IV plate for adequate protection. Level IV plates, on the other hand, offer the highest level of protection available, capable of stopping armor-piercing rounds. These plates are often used by military and law enforcement personnel who may encounter high-powered rifle threats. Both levels are categorized by the National Institute of Justice (NIJ), with Level III being the first level to include hard plates and Level IV providing protection against higher caliber bullets.

We advise acquiring additional side armor for optimal protection. When combined with the Warrior Plate carrier, which accommodates both 6 x 6 and 6 x 8 plates, you can ensure comprehensive defense against various threats. This combination enhances your safety by providing extended coverage, adapting to different protective plate sizes for a secure fit.
